Botanical Design Studio · St. Augustine, FL

Plants are the design,
not the afterthought.

A studio rooted in biophilic design — creating interiors and environments where living elements shape how a space is experienced. Every plant is intentional. Every piece is one of one.

plant·erior
/plan(t)-ēr-ē-ər/
noun · interior

An interior space shaped through living elements — where plants function as structure, not decoration. Designed around light, form, and how a room makes you feel.

plant·erior work includes residential styling, commercial installations, ongoing care, and curated collections — built by hand using greenhouse-grown plants, repurposed vessels, and one-of-a-kind objects.

plant·scape
/plan(t)-skāp/
noun · exterior + environment

The environmental extension of plant·erior — built through scale, placement, and long-term cultivation. Outdoor spaces designed with the same intention as interiors.

plant·scape projects are backed by over twenty years of professional horticultural experience in St. Augustine — including plant selection for real-world conditions, property flow, seasonal behavior, and sustained care through our landscape partnership.

About the Studio

Built from curiosity.
Rooted in St. Augustine.

Planterior Design started the way a lot of plant journeys do — by killing a few. When I stopped guessing and started learning the science, everything shifted. I moved from keeping plants alive to propagating them, then to growing from scratch, then to designing entire spaces around them.

Now I build interiors where plants aren't accessories — they're the architecture. Every installation is sourced, styled, and assembled by hand. Repurposed vessels, greenhouse-grown stock, objects I find and rework. Nothing is repeated. Nothing is mass-produced.

I work with homes, cafés, and businesses across St. Augustine. No formulas. I come to your space, study the light, learn how you use the room — and design something that only works there.

Why Your Space Feels Off — And What a Single Plant Can Shift

The science behind why living elements change how a room feels. It's not aesthetics — it's your nervous system responding to something real.

Process

From Thrift Store to Living Art: How I Source Vessels

Every piece starts somewhere. A look at how found objects become the foundation of an installation.

Space Breakdown

Behind the Scenes: The Kookaburra Coffee Install

A look behind the process — from the first site visit to the final placement. How the space came together, what I learned, and why nothing ended up where I originally planned.
